Denmark: Tiscali to abandon its low-rate strategy

Tiscali, the Danish mobile telephony operator is to abandon its low-rate strategy. As from 15 December the company will raise its price per minute by DKr0.25 to DKr1.50. This is 36% more expensive than the lowest rate at Club Blah Blah. Tiscali communications manager Jes Hvid Mikkelsen rejects claims that the company is facing a serious crisis. According to him, the company aims to reach a positive result on the EBITDA level in the fourth quarter.

Denmark: TDC Mobil to drop Vic trademark

TDC Mobil, the Danish mobile telephony operator, has decided to market itself under its own name and drop the Vic trademark that was launched in February in conjunction with TDC hiving off business units in independent units. TDC Mobil MD Jorgen Weber says there is no need to use the Vic trademark as consumers now associate TDC Mobil with safety and efficiency.

Denmark: TDC Mobil manager fired

Soren Bostrub, the TDC Mobil manager who was responsible for the sale of mobile phones and subscriptions to mobile phone retailers, has been axed. This comes in the wake of the Danish Competition Authority's examination to find out whether mobile telephony companies have been engaged in illegal deals with retailers.
