Deutsche Telekom will buy One2One

Article Abstract:

Deutsche Telekom AG has reached an agreement to purchase One2One for 6.9 billion pound sterling (10.4 billion euros) in cash. Under the terms of the deal, Deutsche will assume approximately 1.5 billion pound sterling in debt. One2One is a wireless operator based in Great Britain. The move is seen as important to Deutsche as it attempts to expand outside of the competitive marketplace in Germany into regions with higher rates of growth.

Novartis, Aventis will talk, dealing blow to Sanofi bid

Pharmaceutical company Novartis enters merger talks with Aventis despite warnings from the French government to refrain from making an offer. The government would prefer to see an Aventis union with domestic competitor Sanofi-Synthelabo which has made a hostile takeover bid.
