Cyber-enthusiasts envisage the end of powerful, centralized broadcast media controlled by editors and producers, and believe that consumers will take control, choosing what they want, with newspapers tailored to the individual. However, although some new media applications are technically feasible, they are not commercially viable, and people's interest in using advanced features are often overestimated.
