DoE RECOMMENDS 100% FDI IN INFOTECH SECTOR
Article Abstract:
The Department of Electronics (DoE) of the Government of India, in its recommendations to the core group on foreign investments, has suggested 100 percent foreign direct investment (FDI) in the software and hardware sector. This includes software services too. Investments in export promotion zones, software technology parks and electronic hardware technology parks are envisaged. The Department of Electronics has said that foreign direct investment be put on the automatic approval list. It says that the approvals should be granted through officers designated under different sections of the Department of Electronics. (um) (kvr)

TATAS DIVEST 4% IN INFOTECH ARM
Article Abstract:
The Tatas have divested about 4 percent in Tata Infotech, its listed IT company. The group's holding in Tata Infotech has now decreased to 76 percent from 80 percent of its paid up capital of Rs12.25 crore. The shares have been divested in several tranches over the past one-and-a-half years. (khr)
