EC135 engine dispute
Article Abstract:
Pratt and Whitney Aircraft of Canada Ltd as well as American Eurocopter Corp and Metro Aviation have denied responsibility for the damage in the PW206 engines of a Eurocopter EC 135 delivered in mid-Oct 2000 to the Broward County Sheriff's Dept in Florida. The aircraft has been grounded since Nov 4 because of a dispute over the damage, called as 'nicks' in some internal parts of the engines. The Sheriff's Dept believes the damage could only have happened before the delivery. For its part, Metro Aviation installed a winch on the EC 135 in August at its facility in Shreveport, LA.
