EU regulator fines five German banks for price fixing

Five German banks have been fined a total of Euro100.8 million by the European Commission for alleged euro profiteering. The banks are Commerzbank AG, Dresdner Bank AG, Bayerische Hypo- and Vereinsbank AG, Deutsche Verkehrsbank AG, and Vereins and Westbank AG.

EU endorses record fine in Microsoft antitrust case: a substantial penalty may be less important than changes in practices

European Union regulators support a fine of almost euro 500 million against Microsoft Corp., which was found to be in violation of EU's antitrust laws. In addition to the fine, Microsoft will also be required to share code with competitors, affecting its market share.
