EU panel finds telecom titans have too much market control

Article Abstract:

The telecommunications industry is holding onto markets with a too tight grip, keeping out smaller start ups according to a report by the European Union. The report comes eight years after deregulation of the telecommunications industry and suggests the industry could use more regulation to prevent the monopoly effect.

EU bid to unify tax code may overcome objections

Article Abstract:

The European Union is moving towards a controversial unified corporate taxation policy. Some European countries, including Ireland and Slovakia, offer special corporate tax rates to attract business. Different tax regimes within the European nations may cause unnecessary extra costs and stunt economic growth.

Europe's telecoms can't fix woes simply by dumping managers

Article Abstract:

Telecommunications industry interests in Europe are facing a continuing turnover of top executives which may be a short sighted answer to intrinsic management problems. Telecommunication stocks underperformed in 2005 and market revenues are down by approximately 9.5 percent, leaving investors frustrated.
