EU to open in-depth probe of Linde's Aga deal

Article Abstract:

The European Commission (EC) announced that it would begin a in-depth probe into Linde AG's planned takeover of Aga, a industrial gas company based in Sweden. The EC raised concerns about the possibility that Linde might acquire a strong position in German, Dutch, and Austrian industrial gas markets. Markets in Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland could be affected by the merger as well.
