Article Abstract:

Asian firms continue their old habits of not reducing risks related to currency devaluation. The move would likely result in disastrous consequences for these firms. Asia's slump: misguided monetary policy is the culprit

Article Abstract:

Asia's exchange-rate policy of following the US dollar to boost exports is the main reason for the region's economic slowdown. Although slower economic growth in Europe and Japan has hindered Asian growth, monetary policy has led to the lack of structural reforms in areas such as education and skills improvement. Asian governments have also reduced their investment in new knowledge-based industries.
