Out of the ward: health in Eastern Europe
Article Abstract:
A number of countries in Eastern Europe have had a decline in statistics pertaining to their public health since communism was eradicated there. Still a World Bank report shows that capitalism is believed to be the best hope in improving health in Eastern Europe.

Article Abstract:
Making a distinction between Eastern European and non-Eastern European countries is difficult. The breakup of the former Soviet Union has left numerous questions. Central Asian countries, Yugoslavia, Albania and other areas are discussed.
