Efficiency based production planning and control models
Article Abstract:
Two nonlinear models for production planning and control based on efficiency as described by data envelopment analysis (DEA) studies were presented. The models may be used in production planning when there are no data on cost of inputs and price of outputs. Extensions to take into account additional factors of production such as overtime, while planning production have also been examined. The proposed efficiency based production planning and control technique was compared with conventional mathematical programming methods.

Strategic leaders or strategic groups: a longitudinal data envelopment analysis of the U.S. brewing industry
Article Abstract:
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is used to determine strategic leaders in the brewing industry and strategic groups. Extremal observations is used as a basis for studying or inducing theories on best practice. New knowledge, insights and theories can be extracted from studying the best or worst of a population. DEA is applied to US brewing data to show its usefulness in acquiring insights.
