Entry and type of entrant: evidence from Portugal
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the value of entry into the Portuguese manufacturing industry. The study evaluates entrant type and considers entrant determinants. Results show that de novo entry generally exhibits sensitivity to entry barriers and is influenced by established firms in the industry. In addition, facility development by these firms is conditioned by economies of scale.
