Eurotel (Prague, Czech Republic), mobile telephone operator, increased the number of its users by 500,000 to the current 2.5 mil clients for the past five months. The share of services with value added in Eurotel's total proceeds from services has increased by more than 400% since the implementation of the protocol WAP and the quick data transfer system HSCSD. The firm's proceeds from the services increased by nearly 600% in absolute numbers for the past 1.5 years.

Eurotel increases turnover

Eurotel (Prague, Czech Republic), mobile operator, increased its turnover by 39% to CEK 28 bil in 2000 compared to 1999. In 2000 the firm saw a profit of CEK 4.8 bil. Eurotel invested nearly CEK 8 bil in new technology and the improvement of ensured services in 2000. The company invested a total of over CEK 30 bil in the Czech Republic during the five years of the existence of the GSM network GSM.

Orea Hotels with proceeds over CEK 1 bil

Orea Hotels (OH) (Czech Republic), hotel company, saw proceeds of CEK 1.023 bil in 2000 compared to CEK 733.26 bil in 1999. OH's profit increased nearly six-times to CEK 290.84 mil in 2000 compared to CEK 5.28 mil in 1999. Over CEK 100 mil of the 2000 profit was ensured by the sales of receivables.
