Exposing the concrete facts

Article Abstract:

Exposed concrete is fashionable in building design but architects lack information about about obtaining and maintaining high quality finishes. Concrete mix ingredients affect its colour. Fines also can be used to add colour and can be colour conditioned. The finish of concrete is affected by the formwork and consideration should be given to the arrangement, grouting and sealing of joints.
