Economists at the FAA have reported that all indicators suggest continued growth for US airlines and general aviation despite a slowdown in the national economy, a volatile stock market, strike threats and fears of an economic recession. The FAA predicts that, over a 12-year period between 2000-2012, domestic revenue passenger mile traffic will increase at annual rate of 4.2%, passenger boardings will increase by 3.6% annually and aircraft operations at air traffic control centers will increase each year by 2.5%.

Paul Green

Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has named Paul Green to the newly created position of deputy executive director-CEO. He will be responsible for the administrative and operational functions of LAWA's four airports that include Los Angeles International, Ontario International, Van Nuys and Palmdale Regional. Before joining LAWA, Green was CEO of the Marine Division of the Washington State Dept of Transportation.

BAA removed as US airport manager
