The Danish security and rescue service company Falck has began targetting Poland with the aim of becoming the leading player on the market. The company aims at covering the 10-15 largest cities/towns by the year 2000. This means Falck will compete with the Swedish company Securitas, which entered the Polish market in 1996 through an acquisition. Securitas has so far reached a SEK 60mn (USD 7.5mn) turnover in Poland. Its activities are concentrated to Warsaw and five other cities/towns. Falck recently acquired Sezam Sp zoo, which is a major player on the Polish security market.

Denmark: Group 4 Falck to expand in South Africa

Group 4 Falck continues expansion in South Africa by taking over Federal Protection Services. This makes Falck the No.3 company in the South African market for security and emergency services. The deal also makes it possible for Falck benefit from synergy effects. Federal Protection Services has a 3,600-strong work-force and a turnover of DKr105mn.

Denmark: Group 4 Falck acquires Callguard Security
Article Abstract:
Group 4 Falck, the Danish security service provider acquired the South African company Callguard Security with a turnover of DKr130mn and a staff of 3,600. This deal will double the company's turnover in South Africa. This acquisition is in line with Group 4 Falck's plans to develop on its existing markets.
