First Danish Lynx delivered
Article Abstract:
The Royal Danish Navy has taken delivery of the first of eight upgraded Super Lynx helicopters under a $24.4-million contract. The contract represents the first Lynx life-extension program to involve the manufacture of new airframes. Lynx heads under strain
Article Abstract:
The UK Royal Navy has decided to replace the monobloc titanium rotor heads that are found on most of its Lynx fleet. The decision, which has spawned an urgent replacement program, stems from the results of an investigation conducted on a crash of one of the Dutch-made machines in 1999. The crash was determined to be due to a fracture of the rotor head while the helicopter was performing a ground run.

AIR87 under review?
Article Abstract:
Australia's AIR87 armed reconnaissance helicopter project is facing review as part of the country's postponement or cancellation of some of its military reequipment programmes. A deferral of the AIR87 for more than one year is expected to result in significant funding problems for projects such as the Army's Black Hawk and Chinook modernizations and the Navy's Seahawk upgrade project.
