Four-year wait for certification over as: Pollock fishery wins eco tag

Article Abstract:

It has taken almost four years for the Bering Sea Aleutian Islands (BSAI) Pollock fishery to loin the sustainability certification from the UK based Marine Stewardship Council. The fishery was recommending for the MSC standard certification by the SCS of Emeryville, California after a long scientific review of the fishery. The two pollock fisheries u BSAI and Gulf of Alaska constitute the worldEs largest whitefish fishery.

Small UK fisheries go for assessment

Article Abstract:

The Dover Sole Fishery and Pelagic Fishery of the Hastings Fishing Fleet were assessed by the Marine Stewardship Council's international standard for well - managed and sustainable fisheries. The assessment was part funded by European Union's Financial Instrument for Fisheries Guidance structural fund.
