France decides to charge EADS: delays and cost overruns at Airbus bring filing; Lagardere, Daimler linked

Article Abstract:

After an investigation by French regulators, the European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. has been charged with misinforming investors of its Airbus Industrie unit. The government will also file insider-trading charges against companies Lagardere SCA and Daimler AG, Airbus's and EADS's principle shareholders. Article discusses related past investigations, and the expected effects of the case on the companies' profit and stock value.

BAE Systems to exit regional jets, cut 1,669 jobs amid carrier slump

Article Abstract:

BAE Systems PLC will terminate its regional jet operations and layoff 1,669 employees due to the major slowdown in the airline industry. The company will also assume a charge of 401 million euros for restructuring in 2001.
