Frank Gehry

Article Abstract:

Frank Gehry's adventurous designs project for the King Alfred Center in Hove is his first in England wherein pre-planning designs for the scheme include an 84m tower and a 45 million pounds sterling sports center. He is currently working on the facades of the two towers, which predominantly house the residential element of the scheme, comprising 750 flats along with the lower buildings, which include a sports center, retail and residential space.

Gung-Ho about the arsenal

Article Abstract:

Bob Allies and Morrison's vision for the Warren Site at the Arsenal in south-east London, which housed weapons from 16th century till its decommissioning in 1990s, is submitted to Greenwich council. Developer Berkeley Group, whose previous masterplan for the site, designed by Broadway Malyan and facing public inquiry, hopes that Allies and Morrison's work would be given the green light before any enquiry can come to a head.

Milton Keynes gets second best

Article Abstract:

The housing development work of Milton Keynes, has got two architectural firms as runners up, instead of single winner, as the jury who decided the contest, felt that most of the designs submitted were not up to the mark.
