French Finance Ministry: New leader, old problems

Article Abstract:

A new French Finance Minister has been appointed by Prime Minister Jacques Chirac. Thierry Breton becomes the new Finance Minister and faces a number of challenges including decreasing the budget deficit and unemployment as well as supervising three privatizations. He succeeds Herve Gaymard who has resigned amidst a scandal concerning his state funded apartment.
