GE Discusses Selling a Stake In Satellite Company to SES

Article Abstract:

Luxembourg-based Societe Europeenne des Satellites SA may acquire a minority stake in GE American Communications Inc., which is owned by Fairfield, Conn.-based General Electric Co. Princeton, NJ-based GE American is negotiating to sell the stake for between $5 billion to $6 billion to SES.

GE expects $400 million loss following attacks

Article Abstract:

General Electric Co. (GE) is forecasting an after-tax loss of $400 million (434.1 million euros) at its Employers Resinurance unit for the 2001 third-quarter. The expected loss comes after the attacks on the World Trade Center.
