Former prime ministers Sharif and Bhutto are trying to form new multi-party alliances in preparation for general elections in Oct 1993. Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party is having more success, striking non-competition agreements with even conservative religious parties.

Article Abstract:
Pres Ghulam Ishaq Khan used Benazir Bhutto's influence with her party to oust Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and then turned on her as well. Upcoming elections have been manipulated and delayed. Both supporters of Bhutto and Sharif are protesting Ishaq's actions.
