Gene discoveries lift Chiroscience stock

Chiroscience Group Ltd. saw investors in London, UK, place more value on its stock after it found signs of success of two new mutant-gene programs after two years of work. Chiroscience chief executive John Padfield noted that its gene program involving action against CD4 T-cells may later be the foundation of medicine that can control bone growth and the immune system. Chiroscience research and development director Robert Jackson indicated that the company may need to find an ally to help in managing the developments that pose new possibilities.

Flexicom develops its plan to trade on stock markets

Article Abstract:

Flexicom, an international card-payment-software specialist, intends to trade on Ireland's Developing Companies Market and London's Alternative Investment Market before the end of 1998. The firm, with annual sales of over 3 million pounds sterling, hopes to raise between 5 million pounds sterling and 7 million pounds sterling in the floatation. After the floatation, 50% of the company will be owned by Flexicom Chief Executive Patrick Shiel, according to Flexicom Financial Controller Eoin Grindley.
