George W hits the trail

Article Abstract:

Texas governor, George W. Bush is journeying to New Hampshire and Iowa as part of a campaign to remove Democrats from the White House. His motto has been 'compassionate conservative' though his policy statements have been vague. He has to appeal to social conservatives, though the religious faction within the Republican party is likely to support him for lack of an alternative, if he achieves the nomination of his party. He may also have to deal with questions about his behavior during his youth.

Counter-counter-culture Bush

Article Abstract:

The problems of President Bill Clinton could mean that George Bush, son of a former president of that name, has a chance to become US president. Bush is governor of Texas and has a 74% approval rating. He enjoys mixing with crowds, and this helps boost his popularity. He sees moral laxity as a result of the values of baby-boomers who should reverse their mistakes as they grow more mature. He uses his own life as an example of someone who has matured.
