German firm is rocked by departure

Germany's Deutsche Bank AG was stunned by the sudden resignation of the director of its asset management unit. Christian Strenger, who has been credited by industry analysts with turning Deutsche Bank's DWS into one of the most successful mutual fund company's in Europe, apparently was troubled by the firm's reorganization plans. Deutsche Bank, after acquiring Bankers Trust Corp., implemented a reorganization plan that might have stripped DWS of some of its coveted operational autonomy.
