Getronics' 57% profit gain tops estimates

Getronics NV posted an improvement of 57% in its net profits for the first-half of 1999. The company's figures were easily higher than what most analysts had predicted. Getronics posted 80 million euros in net profits before goodwill amortization in the period. During the same period in 1998, the company posted 51 million euros. Strong sales in Getronics's business solutions and consulting division were the reasons for the company's improvement.

Groupe Bull says another executive is stepping down

Groupe Bull S.A. announced Friday that its COO, Cyrille du Peloux, will stay on as the head of the company's Integris information-technology services business, which the company is getting ready to sell. A spokeswoman for the company said du Peloux stepped down because he was taking part in a project to maybe bid for ownership of Integris's French activities, which employ roughly 3,500 employees.
