Goodyear blames raw material costs for its large loss

Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. posted a worse-than-expected loss for the 2000 third-quarter. The company, hurt by high costs of raw materials and energy, posted $6.6 million (7.9 million euros) net loss for the period.

Pirelli's net climbs sharply on gains from asset sales
