HMA DATA'S BANKING SOFTWARE FOR DEBIT EVOKES GOOD RESPONSE

Article Abstract:

HMA Data Systems Private Ltd of Chennai has received good response for its product - TBAStar SWITCH. This is an online debit infrastructure software aimed at the banking sector. It provides a variety of value additions to an existing bank network, any branch banking, shared payment network system connectivity, tele-banking through one system and online Internet banking. HMA Data Systems Private Ltd has installed the software at 4 locations - the Indian Overseas Bank in Delhi and Mumbai, the Bank of India in Mumbai and the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. It has priced the product Rs50 lakh for a network of 50 branches. HMA Data Systems Private Ltd, which is now targeting this software at the public sector banks, hopes to install it in more than 10 places in 1999. It also proposes to export TBAStar SWITCH to Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Russia. (ag)

IBM, RBI SIGN PACT FOR CHEQUE-CLEARING

Article Abstract:

IBM and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) have signed an agreement to implement IBM's cheque processing and clearing system at RBI's four National Clearing Centres (NCCs) at Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta and Chennai. The project will be implemented by Tata IBM and IBM Global Services. The system will enable RBI to handle twice its current capacity. The latest S/390 mainframes are to be installed in the four centres providing increased levels of system availability and security. (khr)
