Article Abstract:
United Kingdom architect firm Harper Mackay (HM) was established in 1987 by David Harper and Ken Mackay. They employ over 40 staff and thrive on working on new sector developments. HM has completed over 300 projects, the largest costing 25 million pounds sterling. Its work includes Heron Quays, Coopers Row and Hythe House, UK. The firm has won the contract to design a hotel for HM Rothschild and hopes this will open up opportunities for other city work, in the UK and abroad. Both Mackay and Harper see the future as large scale commissions that will involve the client to produce projects of importance.

Article Abstract:
Elections for seats on the new Architects Registration Board are underway and the RIBA is aiming to ensure it gains a key share of seats. A large proportion of the candiates are members of the institute and the aim is that the new board will not perform the same activities and functions already undertaken by the professional bodies.
