Hollywood Writers, Major Studios Break Off Contract Negotiations

The Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have broken off contract negotiations. Industry analysts said the a strike by Hollywood screenwriters may occur when the old contract expires on May 1, 2001.
