The Russian Privatization Centre wants to keep newly promised Western aid out of government hands by setting up regional funds to invest in privatized firms. The Group of Seven insisted on export credits as part of the aid, which will not help struggling Russian companies.

Article Abstract:
Shares in the former Bolshevik biscuit factory were brisk on the historic first day of the three-week auction Dec 9, 1992. The factory has a 12% share of the cookie market, and is only the first of many state-owned enterprises hoping to go public in 1993.
