Hybrid vigour?

Article Abstract:

The US government is interested in fuel-efficient vehicles, though consumers have yet to find the idea very attractive. General Motors has developed its Precept, and Ford its Prodigy model, which are geared to the US market by being larger than some fuel-efficient foreign cars. Fuel is cheap in the US, and consumers tend not to want to pay more for a fuel-efficient vehicle, though in principle they favor fuel-efficient vehicles that create less pollution, Fuel cells are likely to become more important than hybrid engines in the US.

Hybrid vigour

Article Abstract:

Life sciences firms combining drug production and agriculture have been faced with pressures from consumers as well as a drop in farm prices. Some companies have been imvolved in areas where there are synergies between the two activities, such as AstraZeneca. Agriculture tends to bring in less of a profit than does the pharmaceutical industry, and commodity price drops have meant that this gap has widened. Some companies are hoping for an upturn in the market, but oters may separate the two activities.
