IBM hits Amazon with e-commerce patent suit

IBM is suing Amazon.com Inc. for e-commerce patent infringement, after negotiations between the two companies ended recently . Five patents are involved in the suit, adding to the debate about whether patents on business methods should apply to the Internet.

IBM sets accord on pension plan for $300 million

Article Abstract:

American Express Co. has agreed to pay $300 milliion to partially settle the case over its cash-balance pension plan. The plan is said to be unfair to older employees and pensioners because it drastically reduces the rate at which their pensions grow.
