Article Abstract:

An architect's visual preference for the orthogonal sparseness of modernism simply is the setsquare and T-square determine because they produce regular geometric forms. Although the introduction of computers into the offices of engineers and architects has enabled them to literally think outside the box but one has to understand that there is more to it than just saying that computer equals blob.

BDP's special structures group has created a seven-storey structure for London South Bank University's Keyworth Centre. The fullheight, seven storeys high by 31m-wide glass wall, is supported on a timber structure.
