Inner city recreations: A park designed to cope with the Notting Hill Carnival at its height includes a tranquil garden by C F A Voysey
Article Abstract:
The Emslie Horniman Pleasance park in North Kensington contains the Voysey Garden designed by C F A Voysey in 1913. The area is the launch pad of the Notting Hill Carnival each August. Studio E Architects were commissioned to undertake its regeneration, with Julian Harrap Architects in charge of the restoration of the Voysey Garden. Fundamental changes to the existing layout of the park were made and materials were chosen for their robustness and appropriate detailing.

Peter Foggo, anti-establishment prince among architects
Article Abstract:
Peter Foggo, who died on July 1 1993, was greatly appreciated as an architect. He was a former senior partner at Arup Associates for 30 years. In the last four years, he managed Peter Foggo Associates, his own multi-disciplinary office. Appreciation of Foggo by former colleagues is also presented.

Architect John Kerr has designed bathroom pods for a flat in Belsize Park, London, England. The curved pods, which are connected with a glazed node, protrude out into the main bedroom.
