Finnish Instrumentarium has been sued in the USA. American Anesthesia Service company claims that Ohmeda unit of Instrumentarium does not sell supplementary parts of anesthetic equipment to their competitors. According to Instrumentarium, they have not yet received the summons. However, they claim to have acted in the US in accordance with local legislation. Instrumentarium does not recognize the company, Anesthesia Service, which specializes in repairing hospital anesthesia equipment. According to the company, Instrumentarium and Ohmeda, acquired by Instrumentarium in January 1998, have abused their market share of 65% and refused to sell supplementary parts and manuals.
