Intelligent local search strategies for solving facility layout problems with the quadratic assignment problem formulation
Article Abstract:
Intelligent local search strategies that include a taby search heuristic, a probabilistic tabu search heuristic, a simulated annealing heuristic and a hybrid tabu search heuristic were used to solve facility layout problems with the quadratic assignment problem formulation. Computational results reveal that the intelligent heuristics can be useful for the design of facilities.
