CEAT TO FOCUS ON 2-3 WHEELER TYRE SEGMENT
Article Abstract:
Ceat Ltd (CL) is a leading tyre manufacturer of India. It plans to increase its share in the 2/3-wheeler tyre market. Its subsidiaries are making huge investments in Rado Tyres of Kerala which makes 2/3-wheeler tyres. CL got Rs100 crore from the sale of 50 percent of its investments in S Asia Tyres. Of this, it plans to invest Rs40 crore in the radial tyre projects and Rs40 crore on improving its facilities. It also plans to invest Rs40 crore in its radial tyre venture at Nasik. (gs)

Bridgestone ACC India Ltd plans to enter into the truck and bus radial tyre segment in India. The truck and bus tyre segment has a vast potential in India. Currently, it manufactures steel belted radial tyres for passenger cars and light vans. It supplies tyres to Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company, Honda, Hyundai and Daewoo. It has set up a manufacturing unit at Kheda in Madhya Pradesh. (um)
