KT Freetel's net falls 36%: LG Telecom's profit sinks 55% as costs hurt wireless carriers

Article Abstract:

Third-quarter net profit for wireless operator KT Freetel Company Ltd. decreased 36% to hit 62.9 bil won, while third-quarter net profit for its smaller counterpart LG TeleCom Ltd. dropped 55% to 99 bil won. However, revenues for both South Korean firms rose, by 7.3% and 18% respectively.

Sprint Nextel's profit falls 55% on costs related to acquisition

Article Abstract:

Sprint Nextel Corp. of the United States posted a 55 percent fall in net income to $197 million, down from $437 million. Results were due to the cost out for the Nextel Communication Inc. acquisition. Revenue is up to $11.3 billion, a seven percent increase from last year.

Vodafone swings to net profit, upgrades guidance for 2008

Fiscal half-year net profit for Vodafone Group PLC rose to $6.76 bil, due in part to emerging markets growth and rising mobile Internet usage. Revenue for the UK cell phone service operator increased by 9%.
