Adios: Spanish peseta
Article Abstract:
The future of the Spanish peseta is in question, and the currency closed recently at its lowest rate since 1989. The Bank of Spain has been employing an unusual tactic, that of selling put options for the currency. The peseta will probably be devalued soon.

Guess who's coming to EMU?
Article Abstract:
Spain and Italy want to join the EMU, which could be making wealthier countries such as France and Germany nervous. Spain and Italy could decrease their budget deficits enough to qualify for EMU, but face economic and political obstacles in doing this.
