Kingfisher, Asda Confirm $9.44 Billion Merger Deal

Kingfisher PLC and Asda Group PLC will merge in a $9.44 billion deal that will create the largest multicategory retailer in the United Kingdom. Each Asda share will be exchanged for 0.2263 share of Kingfisher. Kingfisher shareholders will hold two thirds of the group, and Asda shareholders will hold the remaining one third. The new group plans to expand internationally and increase its range of products.
