LSE adds dimension as holders back deal

Article Abstract:

London Stock Exchange PLC shareholders approved the planned acquisition of Borsa Italiana S.p.A. LSE had announced in June its intentions to buy the smaller firm for approximately 1.6 bil pounds sterling. The deal will expand LSE's presence in the derivatives and bond business; the combined company will have a market capitalization of around 4 bil pounds sterling.

Nasdaq declines to raise its bid for L.S.E

Article Abstract:

Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. of the United States offered a share price of 12.43 Pounds ($24.42) per share for the London Stock Exchange PLC of the United Kingdom. The United States stock exchange said it will not increase the offer. The acquisition is not likely as the London Stock Exchange PLC share price rose significantly.
