Starbucks coffee shops have captured the public imagination in Britain where coffee sales are up and the traditional drink of tea has seen sales decline by 12 percent over the past five years. British youth are particularly not as interested in black tea so new blends are being brewed to lure market share. There are 200 Starbucks Corp. coffee shops in London and a total of 466 in all of the United Kingdom.

Autogrill bids for Host Marriott Services

Article Abstract:

Autogrill SpA is making an offer of $529 million (503.7 million euros) to acquire Host Marriott Services Corp. The attempted takeover represents an effort by Autogrill to become the largest highway and airport restaurant group in the world. Autogrill stated that it will begin a all-cash offer for Host Marriott, a food and retail entity based in the US.
