Article Abstract:

The formation of Lernout & Hauspie Investment Co. by Jo Lernout and Pol Hauspi, founders of Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products N.V. has led to criticisms of conflicting interests between the companies. The latter company has been successful in developing speech recognition software while the former company is being founded to invest in companies which will exploit opportunities for such software.
