Special brew
Article Abstract:
Greenall's Hotel and Leisure division employed Architects ORMS to design renovation work on one of their old breweries which had been vacant for some 11 years. The brewery is located in the centre of Warrington, England, and was built in 1890-1905. It is now used as an office building. The design had to incorporate new windows, air conditioning and floors with heights of more than 3m. New bricks were made to blend with the old brickwork on site. The building was given an award in the 1998 Brick Awards.
