Intel plans to raise spending this year

Micron reports loss for quarter on market slump

Micron Technology Inc. posted losses for the third quarter of 1999 that were higher-than-expected. The company attributed the loss to new slowdown in its memory-chip market, as well as on sluggish personal computer shipments. Micron posted $27.7 million (26.8 million euros) in losses for the quarter ending on June 3, 1999. During the same period in 1998, the company posted $109.4 million in losses.

Micron Technology loss shrank in quarter as revenue soared

Micron Technology Inc. posted a significantly lower loss for the fourth-quarter of 1999. The company also reported a major jump in revenue for the quarter. Micron posted a net loss of $17.4 million (16.2 million euros) for the period. During the same period in 1998, the company posted a $93.3 million net loss. Micron posted a 57% rise in quarterly revenues to $1.08 billion.
