Modeling quantity discounts under general price-sensitive demand functions: optimal policies and relationships

Article Abstract:

The problem of finding all-unit quantity discount (AQD) and incremental QD (IQD) policies for price-sensitive demand functions is considered along with the impact of QD on demand growth and the enforcement of pareto-optimal transactions. The solutions obtained reveals that QD raise demand and ensure pareto-efficient transactions and that both AQD and IQD benefit both suppliers and purchasers.
