Article Abstract:
Stanton Williams, architectural practice was found in 1985 by Paul Williams and Alan Stanton. The practice was mainly concerned with exhibition design in the early days, but was concerned about becoming typecast. Its completion of 60 Sloane Avenue was something of breakthrough, winning a string of awards, being hailed as a successful blend of old a new. However their proposals for the National Theatre were slammed by critics, although they Stanton Williams believe old buildings can be successfully and sensitively updated.

Beyond the pragmatic: John McAslan's recently renamed but mature practice is creating new horizons
Article Abstract:
John McAslan of John McAslan & Partners (JMP), architectural practice, prefers to operate a 'lean, mean' business. Two new directors have been appointed, Nick Eldridge and Piers Smerin. However the structure of JMP remains fluid, with more and larger projects in hand. McAslan enjoys repairing buildings by Mendelsohn and Wright and working with Grade I-listed monuments, seeing them as a challenge.
