Multidimensional scaling: an analysis of 1980-1990 computers
Article Abstract:
The Co-plot method of graphically representing attributes and interrelations between attributes was employed to evaluate the performance attributes of computers released between 1980 and 1990. The analysis revealed the increasing importance of input-output rate, cache size and multiprocessing capability to computer performance. It also showed a continuing correlation between microprocessor speed and system performance.
